No event in human history is as significant as the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus’ resurrection defeated death, destroyed satanic strongholds, and confirmed that every sin for every person for all time had been atoned. Jesus’ resurrection was the verification of His identity as the Son of God and the validation of His teachings, His prophecies, and His claims. Jesus’ resurrection positions us for victorious living in this life, and provides for us a hope-filled expectation that we, too, will be resurrected to eternal life.

As people who trust and follow Jesus, we have been given the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11).

The Apostle Paul reminds us that “the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in [us]. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to [our] mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within [us]” (Romans 8:11). Because of Jesus’ resurrection, we have power over sin, power over sickness and disease, power over the enemy, and power over death. There is power in His resurrection!
