On Father's Day of 1926, a female evangelist named Willie Laurel Olive held a tent meeting on Church Street in Concord, NC. As word got out and testimonies were told, the crowds grew and many people were saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and transformed by Jesus Christ. That was how we got started.

For nearly 100 years, New Hope Worship Center has been a beacon of light, a pillar of faith, and an anchor of hope. Thousands of people have come to New Hope to pursue Jesus, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, and transform the world. From this church, hundreds of pastors, missionaries, and ministers have been trained and sent on prophetic assignment. For generations, we have reached out to our community with compassionate, Spirit-led, and practical ministry; and we have had far-reaching impact around the world through our ongoing missions efforts.

This year, we celebrate our centennial! We value our heritage, acknowledge our imperfections, and gratefully acknowledge the fact that Jesus Christ is the Lord of the Church, and He is the Lord of New Hope Worship Center! But while we celebrate the past, we refuse to live in it. God has much more for us than we have ever experienced.

Over the next several weeks, we will look at ways we can move Forward Together.

There are more people who need Jesus. There are more people who need to be filled with and empowered by the Holy Spirit. There are more people who need deliverance and discipleship. There are more neighbors in our community and nations around the world who need the hope of Jesus Christ and the love of His people.

New Hope Worship Center is not a place, it is a people. To reach our highest calling and our fullest potential we must move Forward Together.
